Hi. This redirect contains an obvious spelling mistake and so it would be unlikely used, particularly for a detailed file name like this. Please reconsider the deletion request. Thank you. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 09:21, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hello. Commons:File_renaming#Leaving_redirects suggest that leaving redirects is better than deleting rubin16 (talk) 13:13, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, I see this redirect as an unlikely typo per Wikipedia:Field guide to proper speedy deletion#Redirects and thus meets the criteria for speedy deletion. Also, this redirect with the incorrect spelling is an orphan and not used on any project. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 14:20, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Please disregard my last comment above as that refers to Wikipedia. In the Commons:File_renaming#Leaving_redirects, I do not see where it says that leaving a redirect is better than deleting. As the original uploader, I request that the redirect with the misspelling be deleted because there is a possibility it could cause confusion. The redirect is an orphan and adds no value to the project. Semper fi! FieldMarine (talk) 14:40, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Suppression of redirects is only allowed in the following cases:
- To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
- To perform file name swaps.
- When the original file name contains vandalism. (Renaming criterion #5)
Vandalism - not the case, file swap - not the case, recently uploaded file - not the case, redirect exists since 2015. As I said before, files from Commons aren't used only in Wikimedia projects, so, we shouldn't check just the usage in Wikimedia projects, we need to care about external re-users, too. rubin16 (talk) 14:48, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

- This request to suppress the redirect meets the criteria for an obvious error in the file name, which is a misspelling where the error would not be a reasonable redirect. It in improbable that this redirect will ever serve a purpose because it contains a spelling error in a long file name. Also, as the original file uploader, if I had noticed this redirect left behind with a spelling error before, I would have requested it to be deleted immediately. Lastly, this incorrect redirect was put in place within 12 hours of the correct file, so it is highly unlikely that another project is using it. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 15:04, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
