A detox diet plan is not aimed at weight loss. It aims to cleanse and revitalize the body by combining natural organic foods, herbs and simple exercises to purge the body of accumulated toxins. Over time, consumption of processed foods, non-vegetarian foods, and sugars leads to clogging of the inner walls of the colon with waste matter. This results in overloading of internal cleansing organs like liver and kidneys. They become sluggish, allowing the toxins and bacteria to re-enter the circulatory system instead of total elimination through feces, urine or sweat. These toxins result in fatigue, infections of skin and other organs, migraines, flatulence, heartburns, constipation and many other serious diseases. A regular detox diet plan can rid the body of the accumulated toxins and lead to an active disease-free life.

General Detox Diet
This diet is not for diabetics, low blood pressure patients, anorexic people or teenagers, as it does not provide sufficient fuel for their physical activities. It can be a weeklong diet of liquids, organic raw fruits and vegetables to cleanse the system. Gradually re-introduce other foods but refrain from consuming non-vegetarian and processed foods. Certain natural herbs too can be used.

24-Hour Detox Diet Plan
This is a simple and quick way to revitalize your system, after a binge or over indulgence.

· Morning
One glass of pomegranate juice (most powerful natural anti- oxidant) with a few almonds (source of oil and proteins)

· Mid Morning Snack
One bowl of brown rice (source of vitamins and minerals in carbohydrate and some tofu (protein).

· Lunch
One glass pomegranate juice and big helping of mixed green salad (provides bulk and essential nutrients) drizzled with a tsp of olive oil or vinegar.

· Mid-day Snack
One-glass of pomegranate juice and a handful of almonds.

· Dinner
One glass of pomegranate juice and a large bowl of brown rice.

Drink at least 8 – 10 glasses of water daily. This detox diet will provide 1200 calories and wholesome nutrition to rid your body of toxins within 24 hours. It may help in losing about 600 grams of body weight and, if followed regularly once a week, will keep your body healthy and active.

Herniated Disk and Back Pain

The disk at the back spinal column divides the skeletal structures. Disk does not compose blood vessels or nerves like other elements of the skeletal structure. Instead, disks are made up of fat, water, and tissues that connect to the skeletal structure. During all hours of the day, the disks leak water, which is caused from forces of gravity. For instance, when we sit it is a gravity force in action, which one might think that it takes little effort to sit, but contrary to the notion, it is adding a lot of weight to the spine and disk.

The disk restores water that has leaked out during the day, yet the water is restored at slower paces. Fat and water is balanced in the disk, yet when it is not it causes a person to shrink height. Fat and water inside disks are thick, yet when a person starts aging, the substances begin to thin. When fat and water begins to thin, it can lead to osteoarthritis. Thinning water and fat of the disk is also the leading cause of back pain, especially at the lower region.

Disks exterior are covered by “Annulus Fibrosis.” Sometimes the connective tissues lead to abnormal thickening, which scars the tissue. Usually injury follows, then infection, and moves to restrained oxygen intake. Surgery is often the result. The inner area of the disk is shielded by “Nucleus Pulposis.” The pulp makes up the hub of the disk, which is polished and soft. The disks make up the primary supporting force that regulates the spinal column, bones, muscles, etc.

When the disk is not protecting the spinal structures it is often dehydrated, pressured, or deformed. The disk has strength that combines with flexibility to withstand high loads of pressure, yet when that flexibility and strength is interrupted, it can result to herniated disk slips, or other injuries.

Slipped disks in medical terms are known as HNP. (Herniated Nucleus Pulposa) As outlined the intervertebral disks are ruptured, which interrupts the nucleus pulposa. In medical terms, slipped disks can include L4, L5, which is Lumbrosacral and C5-7, which is Cervical. L4 is a single area of the spinal column and disks, which defines the numerical disk ruptured.

Slipped disks are caused from accidents, trauma, strain of the back and neck, lifting heavy objects, disk degeneration, weak ligaments, and congenital deformity of the bones. Disk degeneration is outlined in this article.

Symptoms:
Lumbrosacral will show apparent symptoms, such as acute lower back pain, which radiates to the buttocks and down to the leg. The person will feel weak, numb, or tingling that stretches to the leg and foot. Ambulation also causes pain.

If cervical disk problems are present, the patient will feel stiffness around the neck. As well, the symptoms will make the patient feel weak, numb, and he/she will feel tingling around the hands. Neck pain often generates pain, extending it to the arms and onto the hands, which cause weakness to the upper region of the body. The weakness often targets the triceps and biceps, which become atrophy. The lumbar is affected also, which the patient will find it difficult to straighten the back.

What happens when a disk is slipped and/or broken the annulus fibrosis reacts by pushing its substance into the hollow spacing between the spinal column. The spinal column is made up of nerves, which travel to various parts of the body, including the brain. These nerves are affected when the disk is slipped. Learn more about the Central Nerve System (CNS) to relate to slipped disks. First, understand how the joints and connective tissues can cause back pain.

Luckily, many people have learned ways to better manage arthritis. Here are some of the tips that they’ve shared.

Take the time to learn about your condition and keep track of new advances in the science of treating arthritis. Join an online community of people suffering from arthritis and share advice and tips with them. Ask your doctor any question you have about your condition. Knowledge is key in living with your arthritis.

Find a hobby that you can easily perform. Many people who suffer from arthritis spend their days wishing they had something they could actually do, and you can prevent this boredom by searching out your own new hobby. Whether it is painting or dancing, having something to get you moving will keep you healthy.

A healthy diet is a key factor in fighting psoriatic arthritis. Make sure to never skip your meals. Keep your diet a healthy mix of proteins, complex carbs, and unsaturated fats to help your body have enough energy to get through the day. A healthy diet will go a long way towards fighting fatigue, which can aggrevate your arthritis.

Yoga can be a huge help in getting arthritic joints moving again and “hot yoga” can provide an intense workout as well as make it easier for some arthritis sufferers to participate. Hot yoga is performed in a studio that is kept at a temperature of 105 degrees with 40% humidity. Movement is slower and many arthritic participants find the heat and humidity beneficial to loosening stiff muscles and joints to help make exercise easier.

Start a regular and appropriate exercise regimen to help you manage the effects of arthritis. While weight training or resistance training may be difficult initially, following a medically sound exercise routine strengthens the muscles around your joints. This means you are less likely to cause further damage to joints and less likely to experience pain as a result of normal daily activities.

While yoga may not have a wealth of research and evidence in regards to its effectiveness for dealing with arthritis, it is often recommended. Yoga involves stretching, full body conditioning and allows for group interaction which is great for stresses involved with arthritis. Use yoga not only for your body therapy but also for your mental well-being as well.

If you are having trouble walking because of arthritis pain in your legs, ankles, and hips, try using a cane. Using a cane will help take almost 20 percent of your body weight off of your lower body joints. Some people will associate a cane with having a disability, but if it will reduce your pain, who cares what anyone else thinks.

Those without arthritis may not understand what you’re going through, but plenty of others do. Be sure to take full advantage of the advice available. While nothing can completely eliminate your problems, you’ll be amazed at how much some of these tips can help. Use this shared knowledge to make your burden a little bit lighter.

The Hazards of Over-Training

Physical training is something that is integral to success in a vast majority of sports. Being at the ideal physical condition for a particular sport, or at least as close to it as possible, is something that athletes in a competitive environment want to be in. They can go to extreme levels, enduring the most insane training exercises and diet regimen just to hit that peak. However, there are times when the training goes beyond what can be considered healthy, even causing some damage to the internal workings of the body. Muscle spasms, lower back pain, fatigue, and knee pain are just a few of the many possible injuries one can get when the body is forced to work beyond its normal capacity.

The muscles are generally the first parts of the body that are damaged when people take their training way too seriously, with muscle spasms and excessive muscle tension being the initial symptoms. The use of muscle relaxants may sometimes be prescribed to combat these problems, though others may prefer to take an over-the-counter pain killer to just dull the pain. However, ignoring or misdiagnosing these muscle pains can result in aggravated problems. Muscle tissue can be torn and tendons as well as ligaments can be injured. No matter how toned and how strong you make your muscles by training them, there are limits to how much they can endure. The more strenuous a particular exercise or physical activity is — the greater the risk for injuries. When your quads get strained or you can’t flex your arms without screaming in pain, simple muscle spasms are going to be the least of your problems.

Fatigue is also a major concern. The state of fatigue can make additional training difficult and, much worse, it can even take a toll on one’s personal life. The natural response to the onset of fatigue is to find a comfortable place to just sit back and rest. However, there are times when taking a rest isn’t an option. A person might have an important appointment to attend to that would force him to stay awake for an extended period, aggravating the already weary state of his body. The consequences of this can also extend to the person’s mental state, with slower reactions times and incoherent thought processes being not that uncommon.

For other sports, more overt injuries like knee pain and torn muscles are real risks that make physical training a carefully navigated exercise. Any activity that involves lifting weights that exert a large amount of pressure on the muscles can result in injury. Too much weightlifting, for example, has sometimes been known to cause lower back pain. As the weight is lifted upwards by the arms, gravity is pulling the weight down and most of the pressure concentrates on the lifter’s lower back, with injury being a definite possibility if the weight is suspended for too long.

The easiest way to avoid the above problems is to have a training program designed specifically for your build, with the stress and weights calculated so that they challenge the muscles, but not overexert them. Feeling a little pain when in training is understandable at the start, but if the pain is chronic, it is best that you seek the advice of a medical professional. Don’t wait until you develop a tolerance for pain killers and muscle relaxants to have your body examined for possible injuries or problems.

Great Guide On How To Deal With Back Pain

Back pain is a problem for many people.
Many things in today’s culture, such as, sitting for too long or having poor posture, can contribute to back pain. If you suffer from back pain frequently and aren’t sure what to do, read on to find out some ways to relieve back pain.

One of the best ways to ease your back pain is to flip. Flip your mattress. The springs and inner build up of your mattress can settle over time. Turn your mattress clockwise. Next time, flip it completely over. By doing this it will help your mattress wear evenly which will ease your pain.

Apply ice to your back when it is feeling sore. Using ice on your pain is a simple and effective way to get immediate relief for any back pain. Ice will quickly reduce swelling to the entire area, which will automatically reduce pain sensations. Avoid putting ice directly on skin.

Be careful about doing abdominal muscles. Abdominal muscles can be a major cause of back pain. Many people are so concerned about the appearance of a tight stomach that they don’t realize that abdominal exercises can put major strain on the back if you don’t don’t do back exercises as well. Any time you exercise, focus on both sets of muscle groups.

When you have lower back pain, try using an exercise ball to provide relief. Doing appropriate exercises on the ball will help you develop flexibility and increase the tone of your lower back muscles. As your back muscles become stronger, they will give your lower back better support, thus reducing your pain.

To avoid back pain resulting from long hours spent driving, you can use a back support or pillows to reduce the amount of shock absorbed by your back. If you cannot acquire a back support to strap to the seat, then simply placing a pillow between your lower back and the seat and between your upper back and any remaining gaps in the seat will help you to keep your back straight while also protecting it from shock.

One area of your life that can be affected by chronic back pain is your sex life. If left covered up, you are not allowing your partner to be understanding of your back pain. Your partner may think another reason is putting a strain on you guys’ sex life. Therefore, it is imperative to be open and honest and look for ways for your back pain not to disrupt your sex life.

Tips for Using Natural Remedies

Are you interested in using a natural remedy to seek relief from a minor medical problem, such as a headache, migraine, or a toothache? If you are, you are not alone. A large number of individuals use natural remedies, also commonly referred to as home remedies. With that being said, if this is the first time that you will be trying a natural remedy, you may be looking for some guidance. If that is the case, please continue reading on, as a few helpful and important natural remedy tips are touched on below.

Although natural remedies do work in most cases, it is important to know that you may see a variance. For example, there are some individuals who claim that drinking grape juice, namely the juice directly from ripe grapes, is a great way to relieve the pain associated with a headache or a migraine. Yes, this approach may work for others, but that does not necessarily mean that that same natural remedy will work for you. The good news though is that there are multiple home remedies for different medical problems. For example, a fresh apple each morning, a cabbage compress, and a cold compress are other natural ways that can provide relief from a headache or a migraine. This means that even if you can’t find relief right away, there should be another remedy out there that can provide you with relief.

Since there should be a number of natural remedies for you to choose from, you will want to examine each of the available remedies. What you will then want to do to is choose the remedy that is most convenient for you. For example, natural remedies that are effective at removing warts include castor oil, ripe pineapples, onions, and potatoes. What you will want to do is choose the item that you already have in your home. For example, if you have a bag of potatoes in your cupboard slice up a potato and rub it on your wart. Doing so each night for a couple of weeks will help to remove your wart. This method will also prevent you from having to make a trip to the grocery store, as you chose a natural remedy that involved an item in which you already had in your home.

Safety should also be touched on when looking to use a natural remedy to cure a minor medical issue, such as a headache, migraine, or a toothache. If you rely on herbal remedies or vitamins to provide you with relief are you also taking prescribed medication? If so, you may want to place a quick telephone call to your doctor or pharmacist. Most times, you will be okay, but there are a small number of prescribed medications that should not be taken with herbal supplements or vitamins. Even though the chance of a dangerous combination happening is very small, there is still no harm in checking first.

In keeping with safety, it is important to know what you are allergic to. For example, if you are allergic to an ingredient that may be listed in a natural remedy, you are advised against using that remedy. Even if the ingredient that you may have a bad reaction to is only a small component, it is still best if you avoid that particular remedy. With that being said, it was stated above how most minor medical issues can be treated with a number of different natural remedies. That is why you should never put yourself at risk for an allergic reaction, especially when you should have a number of other natural and safe remedies to choose from.

As a recap, natural remedies are a safe and effective way to seek relief or treat a large number of minor medical issues, but you are still advised to proceed with caution. Seek the advice of a healthcare professional if you take prescribed medication and never use a natural remedy that contains an ingredient which you are allergic to or known to have a reaction with.

If allergies had a top ten list of their favorite
symptoms what would be on it?
Would they prefer life
threatening or just really annoying?

The most common symptoms, that may or may not be on
their favorites list:

Breathing problems.

This one should be fun for an allergy. It really gets
the persons attention. Nothing like the lack of oxygen
to center a person’s attention on the allergy.

Burning, watery or itchy eyes.

This symptom falls into the really annoying category.
It could cause additional problems if you can’t see
where you’re going.

Red, swollen eyes, also called Conjunctivitis.

Certainly annoying, but most people can deal with this
one.

Coughing.

This one gets old real quick. And a constant cough
quickly becomes painful.

Diarrhea.

This one might start out in the annoying category, but
left unchecked could switch to the life threatening
section very quickly.

Headache.

Depending on the severity of the headache, this one
might be tolerable.

Hives.

This symptom is not only annoying and uncomfortable
(possibly painful) it draws the attention of strangers
on the street.

Itchy nose, mouth, throat or skin.

Another in the category of really annoying. An itch
that can’t be soothed is one of the most annoying
things there is.

Runny nose.

Yeah, this one could cause problems with other people.
No one likes to hear someone constantly sniffing or
blowing their nose. Makes people wonder what germs
you’re spreading around.

Skin rashes.

Possibly ugly to look at, but tolerable

Try physical therapy. A good physical therapist should be able to help you identify where your issues come from and show you what kind of exercises you need to do. You might not have to go to physical therapy regularly. Perhaps, going once to establish a good work-out plan is enough.

Make time for yourself. Setting aside at least thirty minutes a day to do something strictly for you should not make you feel guilty. Doing this can make you more productive and relaxed, which will in turn prevent flare ups and painful swelling. Learn to relax, and you will find yourself in better health.

In conclusion, you now know that arthritis can hit home by causing great discomfort to you and your loved ones, as well as cause a great dent in the country’s budget. Hopefully, this article will help you to understand how big of an impact this ailment causes and what you can do to help.

We try to do everything in this 21 century — filling our lives with a dozen of activities that tax our bodies and emotions. Multi-tasking is the norm with organizing busy schedules at work, for family and for our social life has become a daily task.

To stay and go on running in the rat race, you must be prepared to endure aches and pains all over your body as well as the lumps and swelling — sure signs of overwork and stress.

Here are the common aches and pains that you usually experience in everyday:

? Knee – Stiff and swollen joints make it difficult to do any bending. Pain in the knees are usually worse in the morning or after a long period of inactivity. Knee joints are often affected by arthritis.

? Shoulder – Any kind of overuse can stress the shoulder joint. Muscles can be strained and tendons can become inflamed.

? Hip – A pain at the top of your leg that you may usually the inner side of your thigh. Osteoarthritis of the hip is extremely common. It results from the deterioration of the cartilage covering the ends of the bones.

Muscle pain can be caused by many conditions. The most commo is a “ strain” where the muscle is stretched beyond its maximum length resulting in injury. Muscle pain is most frequently related to tension or muscle injury any physically-demanding work. When muscle pain last beyond the expected healing time, it is then best to consult your doctor.

Every now and then you might be having muscle cramps and if you are working for quite some time and it also involves some heavy work that you might be experiencing a sensation of your mucles making you so tired and there is a decreased in your muscular performance. The underlying cause of muscle fatigue can fall into two categories: central and local.

Reduce Your Back Pain Today By Trying These Tips!

A lot of people are suffering from back pain and simply don’t know how to alleviate it. There are a lot of methods you can use towards getting rid of your back pain, tips like the ones in this article can help you learn how to relieve your back pain problems.

A great tip you can use to prevent back pain before it starts is to take it easy on the alcoholic beverages. Alcohol will cause you to become dehydrated. This is what causes the hangover. When you become dehydrated, your muscles can become tense, cramp and spasm and ultimately cause pain.

To avoid further injury to a healing back, avoid activities, which will add additional strain to the back. Shoveling snow or lifting heavy bags or boxes, for example, are everyday activities you should not engage in until your back is healed. If not, you may end up re-injuring the area before it has even had a chance to heal itself.

When dealing with back pain, it’s always a great idea to ensure that your weight is distributed evenly when standing. Do not put more weight on one leg than the other. Of course, you cannot avoid this while walking, but while standing, maintain good posture and even weight distribution to help with back pain.

If you’re thinking about purchasing anything at all to assist with your back pain, look in to purchasing an ergonomic chair. These types of chairs are specifically designed for your back and will provide full support that you can rely on. You can keep proper posture while sitting in these chairs and alleviate and possibly even eliminate your pain.

One of the most common causes of chronic back pain is bad posture. Slouching can cause pain, muscle tension and decreased mobility. When you walk, keep your shoulders back and try to keep your back straight. When sitting at your computer or desk, put a pillow or rolled up towel behind your lower back for support and keep your shoulders back.

If you suffer from chronic or periodic back pain, try listening to some relaxing music. Research has shown that music therapy can reduce back pain and even the depression that it can cause. Music is a low-cost therapy that can relieve pain or complement medical treatment for this disabling condition.

Know when to see a doctor. Many people try to handle their back pain by themselves, and that usually works for a time, but a doctor can be an invaluable source of information and relief. A doctor can do tests that determine the cause of your back pain, as well as, prescribe medicine to soothe your pain.

Now that you have a better idea of how to alleviate your back pain problems, hopefully you now know how to take the steps towards doing just that. Keep in mind that this information is only a portion of all that you can know about relieving your back pain. Constantly look for more things you can apply and then actually apply those strategies, and you should feel a difference before you know it.

Cure For A Hangover

Cefaly at CMEF Shenzhen

If you are looking around for a cure for a hangover, you are going to find a lot of strange advice. There is one surefire way to avoid a hangover, but all of the rest of the suggestions you find will be hit and miss. Some work for some people, and others won’t work at all. This is because everyone’s body is different, and you may find that what works for your friend won’t even touch the pain you are feeling in your head. You may have to experiment to find what works for you.

The best cure for a hangover is to not drink. I guarantee you won’t get a hangover if you don’t drink. I know this isn’t the answer most people are looking for but it works for me. If you don’t want to do that, there is one thing that seems to help a lot of people, and this is making sure you drink a few glasses of water before you go to bed. It might be a pain to get up to use the bathroom three times after you have done it, but it is better than the hangover. This cure for a hangover tends to help a lot because alcohol depletes the body of needed water, and if you drink the water, some of the side effects of dehydration disappear. Some hangovers are completely skipped if you take this step.

Another cure for a hangover I have heard is to take headache medication before you go to sleep. I wouldn’t advise doing this, and I don’t know if it helps. The problem with this cure for a hangover is that alcohol and most medications should not be mixed. You might end up with a problem way worse than a hangover. You may really want to skip that one and save the headache medication for the morning. If you wake up with a headache you can then take it.

I have heard of another cure for a hangover that seems to work, but I don’t know if I recommend it. Many like to have a drink in the morning. I’m not sure why this works, but it seems to work for some people. Though it is a cure for a hangover, it may make your problem worse. You are just putting more toxins into your body that your liver must deal with. This is why you might be feeling so run down. In essence, alcohol is a poison to your body and it must work to get rid of it. There may be nothing you can do for a sure fire cure for a hangover other than limiting the amount your drink or not drinking at all.

Cool Ways To Combat The Common Cold

Back and Headache Clinic

Yes, it’s that time of year again-cold season.
The typical cold is an upper respiratory infection that can be caused by more than 200 different viruses. Symptoms include sinus pressure, nasal congestion, headaches, body aches and sometimes fever and cough.

Recent statistics have shown that adults average two to four colds a year, which amounts to one billion colds nationwide. Contrary to popular belief, exposure to cold weather is not proven to cause colds. In fact, spending more time indoors actually increases the chance for viruses to spread.

When someone has a cold, sneezing, nose-blowing and nose-wiping may spread the virus. You’re likely to catch a cold by inhaling the virus if you are sitting close to someone who sneezes, or by touching your nose, eyes or mouth after you have touched something contaminated by the cold virus.

There are over-the-counter (OTC) medications available at your local pharmacy to relieve symptoms of the common cold. If you’re looking for 12 hours of relief from just one pill, Aleve Cold & Sinus is effective in treating headaches, body aches, fever, nasal congestion and sinus pressure that may result from a cold.

New guidelines published by The American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) suggest that the pain reliever naproxen, an active ingredient in Aleve Cold & Sinus, is more effective in treating cold-induced coughs than popular OTC cough syrups.

If a cold causes your sinuses to become congested, this congestion may lead to painful sinus headaches. You might have a sinus headache if you are experiencing pain or pressure around the eyes, cheeks and forehead; tender skin and bones over and under the eyes; and pain when bending over. The active ingredient in Aleve Sinus & Headache is an extended-release decongestant that works to reduce sinus pressure for up to 12 hours.

In addition to an OTC medication, other ways to treat your cold include:

• Get plenty of rest

• Drink plenty of fluids

• Don’t drink alcohol

• Gargle with warm water to soothe a sore throat.

“I’m exposed to germs every shift that I work,” said Marty Heggs, a registered nurse from Loveland, Colo. “Aleve Cold & Sinus allows me to continue to help others during my 12-hour shift. I recommend it to all my co-workers and patients.”

Aleve Cold & Sinus and Aleve Sinus & Headache are both available at your local pharmacy and many other stores where you purchase health and beauty products. If you cannot find these products on the shelf, ask your pharmacist or store manager for help, as they may be located behind the pharmacy or service counter.

Simple Guide On How To Battle Arthritis 4

Simple Guide On How To Battle Arthritis

Did you know that among adult Americans, arthritis is one of the most common health problems? There are many other things you should know about arthritis that you may or may not know already. Read this article for some of the greatest advice that you will find anywhere.

Try using walking aids when you suffer from rheumatoid arthritis flare ups. Walking aids will help relieve the pain and stress on your joints. Every step you take can cause intense pain, so use crutches, a cane, or knee braces to help relieve the pressure and increase your mobility.

If you are hurting try alternating heat and cold. You can use hot and cold packs for instance. Once the hot packs stops having any effect on your arthritis, apply the cold one on the same spot. Repeat this operation until the pain is completely gone or at least attenuated.

Stay away from heating pads if your arthritis is flaring up. All they are going to do is make your symptoms worse. Instead, apply a cold compress to the area where your arthritis is located. You could even wrap a package of frozen peas or another frozen vegetable in a towel and apply to the area.

If you are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, make sure you’re getting enough omega-3 in your diet. If you’re not, consider taking a supplement like fish oil to help get those levels up. You should try water aerobics. This is a good form of exercise because there is no pressure on the joints and it still allows you to move and stretch. Most swimming pools offer aerobics classes: besides improving your joints, this activity should help you relax and forget about the chronic pain.

Eat plenty of Omega-3 fatty acids to help combat inflammation. Recent studies have shown that Omega-3 fatty acids can help to reduce inflammation for arthritis sufferers. Food sources that are high in Omega-3s include fish, walnuts, and flaxseed. Better yet, try adding cod liver oil to your diet.
